Hanging plants have completely changed the way I style my space!
If you’ve ever felt like your home is getting a little crowded with plant shelves, tables, and floor pots… hanging plants are the easiest way to add more greenery without adding clutter. They draw your eye upward, create movement, and make a space feel more alive and layered.
I’ve been slowly incorporating hanging plants throughout my home like in corners, near windows, above cabinets, and even in rooms I didn’t expect and the difference in energy is huge! It instantly makes everything feel more intentional and cozy, almost like your space is growing around you.
One thing I personally love doing is mixing in different elements to make each setup feel unique. I’ll style trailing plants like pothos or philodendrons with small details like plant wraps or subtle accents that catch the light. It adds texture and personality without overwhelming the plant itself.
When it comes to the hangers themselves, I tend to gravitate toward simple, timeless macrame styles. They work with almost any aesthetic and let the plant be the focal point. While I didn’t personally make every hanger shown in these photos, I’ve carefully curated pieces that fit the House Plant Clubbin vibe. I also create my own handmade plant accessories, like plant wraps, that can be styled alongside hanging plants to enhance the overall look.
If you’re just getting started with hanging plants, I recommend choosing easy, trailing varieties like pothos, heartleaf philodendron, or spider plants. Place them somewhere with good natural light and let them do their thing. The beauty of hanging plants is that they don’t need to be perfect - a little wild growth actually makes them feel more organic and lived in.
Over time, you can build out your space and experiment with different heights, textures, and placements. That’s when it really starts to feel like your own personal jungle.
